To say that this is a park is strong language in my opinion. The park has a single road into the park and has about 12 campsites and maybe two hiking trails. The reason for me staying at this state park was that I was driving and it was about 6 pm and I was hungry and tired of driving. The sign for the park was on the side of the road and the park was right there along the highway I was on. I did find a spot with some shade and was able to camp for the night. The sites were a bit expensive for what you got at $28.00 for a non-resident of Montana but if you lived in Montana it was free. The park did fill up during the evening and even one of the campers from Devil’s Tower stayed here for the night. I don’t see staying at the park for many days but for a night it was great. There are rocks above ground that are filled with carvings from people saying who they love or just their name. Why do people insist on doing stuff like this to nature? The sunset was nice and the views on one trail were wonderful. If you are driving by stop by for the night but don’t expect too much.
