Beavertail State Park – 6/10/2024 – 6/12/2024

Having a broken fridge that was a freezer due to a bad sensor probe, I needed to get it fixed.  A wonderful lady for an Isotherm / Webasto repair facility allowed me to use their address to mail the part.  They were in Missoula so I had to get there and have them replace the part.  After the part was repaired I did some shopping for groceries since it was hard to keep stuff cold by turning on and off the fridge so it would not freeze.  I then started to drive to a state park East of Missoula.  Along the way I saw a sign that said a state park with camping at the next exit.  On a whim, I too, the exit and about 1/2 mile down the road was the campground for Beavertail State Park.  The campground had many 25 spots and was right on a river.  The campground turns over virtually each night but is very nice.  The bathroom has flush toilets along with a vault toilet.  There is a nature trail that is about 1 mile long and goes along the river.  At night at my spot you could hear the water of the river, and when nobody was in the campground during the day it was even better sounding.  While checking into the park, Calie the maintenance worker checking me in, talked me into a Montana State Park annual pass.  The pass got me a ten dollar reduction in camping fees along with free entry into the Montana State Parks.  Guess I should have purchased it at the first park and it would have saved me a bunch of money but oh well.  Calie also helped me book my next stop along the way another state park.  Enjoying the discount of ten dollars a night at Beavertail and then at Whitefish has allowed the pass to pay for itself already. If I am driving by on interstate 90 I would stay at this park again.
