When I started my journey this year I said to myself, Hey you need to do more than National Parks so I thought about lighthouses to take photos of but also Presidential Libraries. The libraries are a source of great historical information although slanted to the good of the President whose library you are visiting. Herber Hoover’s library is a part of the NPS as it is also at his birthplace in West Branch, IA. You can see his childhood home, his dad’s blacksmith shop, and the Quaker church he attended. I do have to say that the library was closed for renovations when I sent to see it. I did get a feel for how young Herbert was raised with being able to go into the home, and his father’s workshop. I will need to go back allowing me the ability to review the library.
