On my trip to Maine, I decided to stay at state parks within Maine if I could find one close to where I was wanting to be or just thought was interesting. Lamoine was the interesting category. First off the state park is in a town Lamoine and it has a beach. Lamoine is about six miles as a crow flys to Bar Harbor but driving is about thirty miles. The state park is the place I chose to stay near Bar Harbor for the first go around and used it as the base for Bar Harbor. I left the campground each AM by 0530 to get into Bar Harbor by 0600 to ensure I got one of the limited RV parking spots. The campground itself was nice with flush toilets and showers. The spots were a bit close to each other but my spot was less than one hundred yards from Frenchman Bay. The beach here was a great place to watch the sunset.
