Hot Springs National Park is located in Hot Springs, AR. The park is in the middle of downtown with “bath row” being the main attraction within the park. The bath houses used natural hot springs to provide their guests with the best in steam baths and medical cleansing. Some of us older people will remember the gymnasium at the bath house’s climbing ropes, rings, pommel horse, and medicine balls. Guess you don’t need tons of equipment to stay in shape just exercise.
Campground – I stayed in a KOA Campground just outside of Hot Springs and the facilities were very nice. I did have a family who put an AC unit into the side of their tent as it was hot and we were in Arkansas. The campground had a pool so I was able to cool off in the pool before heading to sleep for the night. Restrooms at the campground were clean and had hot water and showers, guess spending a few bucks more on the commercial campground was a good thing to start off my journey.
